Foreign Drama
DramaI think it's important that we all try to give something to this medium, instead of just thinking about what is the most efficient way of telling a story or making an audience stay in a cinema.
- Lars von Trier
Welcome traveller! Are you here for a modern Danish tale of familial strife? Perhaps you'd like to look into a period piece about the old Swedish Bourgeoisie? Or maybe you'd rather learn about how a few Europeans dealt with The Great War? Any fan of the Foreign Drama sets themselves apart as someone who enjoys art imitating life. Mostly filled with tales of normalcy rather than fantasy, this is reality-focussed film that is often heavy, sometimes tragic, and usually just plain deep. If you're looking for a lesson or a nice character study, this is a good place to come visit.
And yes, I will include Canada as a foreign country, even though I'm smack dab in the middle of its capital.
