Akira Kurosawa

The Emperor: Samurai Filmmaker Extraordinaire (1910 - 1998)

Movie directors, or should I say people who create things, are very greedy and they can never be satisfied, ... That's why they can keep on working. I've been able to work for so long because I think next time, I'll make something good.
- Akira Kurosawa

Akira Kurosawa was a man that stood a full 6'. Compared to his other Japanese counterparts this was often a full head taller than those around him. I guess a man who stood so tall was destined to aspire to greatness.

If you're reading this fast-growing filmography of one of the top ten directors that we're ever had on Earth, (no, not just according to me), then you're gearing up for the Kurosaw-A-Thon on November 15th.
