F.W. Murnau
Pioneer of German Expressionism (1888-1931)
Don't act - THINK!
- F.W. Murnau
You've all heard of Nosferatu, and perhaps even a few other of Murnau's titles besides, but if you ask me (and you are), F.W. Murnau is probably the most unknown of the best film directors history has ever had. Aside from being an innovator, exploring the tales through eyes of Expressionism, he was a pioneer of technological advancement as well as storytelling. To think that so many of his works have been lost to the ages is saddening, yet somehow poetic.
